Color Challenge!

They are having a color challenge over at Papertrey Ink, and I love that they have a printable version of the color combos for future reference. I chose a warm palette with scarlet jewel, kraft, linen, melon berry and stone. I used the half and half die and stamp and a sentiment from 'Flower Fusion #6, along with Papertrey's kraft and scalet jewel ink. Tied the top with a strip of burlap, shadow stamped the flower to give a background to the tag. Simple design, but I love how it turned out. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Sunday and A Card Sketch To Go With

Today, over at Papertrey Ink there was a card sketch challenge. I chose this sketch:

I used sentiments and tag detail from the 'Everyday Photo Finishers' stamp set, along with Scarlet Jewel ink, I love this deep shade of red. I die cut some felt flowers and added a bit of hand stitching with floss. I love the look of the double flagged tags. Hope you enjoy!

Papertrey Pinterest Challenge Take 2

I have a second packaging inspiration from Pinterest...this one includes a cute little tag die cut from from Papaertrey Ink's 'Half and Half' dies and stamped from the same stamp set. I've enclosed it with a cute little red kraft bag, added a frame with a handmade spiral flower and heart, and a sentiment from the 'Half and Half' stamp set and zig zag stitch from 'Button Boutique.' topped it off with a cute little clothes pin and twine. The inside tag has a sentiment from and old Basic Gray rub on set. Thanks so much for stopping by!

February 9, Papertrey Ink Pinterest Inspiration Challenge

Rare for me to post every day, let alone two posts in one day! I had a lot of fun looking around on pinterest, looking for my inspiration piece. I knew I found it right away when I saw this http://pinterest.com/pin/256494141249867315/repin/ decorated brown paper bag, and they she did kraft on kraft. I have to admit, I was also inspired by the moss I collected last fall when we were hiking up in the mountains (they've been sitting in a plastic bag, and really needed to be housed in a prettier container :). I used the happy hexagons to make a border, then for the main sentiment I used a method from a video I watched from Papertrey Ink (I think it was a Betsy Veldman one) on using your mat stacks and double dying them, then using pop dots to get a shadow effect. I used a sentiment from 'Think Big 19.' I had to use a spellbinders die, since I have yet to acquire any PTI ones (they're in my cart :). Here's my project;

More of Papertrey Ink's 'Favorite's Challenge

Today I am sharing another card made for Papertrey Ink's 'Favorite's' Challenge. I loved the Chalkboard card Betsy Veldman made with the 'Stitched Sentiment's' stamp set, here;
http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c64e753ef017c3699e4ca970b-pi

I didn't quite make mine a blackboard card, but did use the white embossing over the black and bits of red, using Zing's red glitter embossing powder. I also used the sentiment stamp and die from the 'Everyday Photo Finishers' set. Cut little flag tails out of the banner and added some pearls;

Paper Trey Ink Free Printout Challenge

Today at Paper Trey Ink, they are not only giving sneak peeks of their new monthly stamps, but there was also a free digital sheet. The challenge today was to to use one of the images from the sheet on a project. I chose this cute little teacup of posies by Michelle Bickford, along with the sentiment, 'You are my cup of tea." I backed the main image by heart cut from mesh, surrounded the heart with the vines from the stamp set 'Stitched Sentiments,' and mounded the sentiment on a die cut from 'Photo Finishers.' Surrounded the sentiment with some old Doodlebug velvet heart brads. These challenges are really forcing me to think outside my box, which I am really enjoying. Here's my card:

Paper Trey Ink Favorites Challenge

HI there, over at Paper Trey Ink they are having a fun and inspiring challenge, where the designers chose some of their favorite designs over the past year, and we could choose one and use it as inspiration.  I chose these cute little tags by Melissa Phillips:
http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341c64e753ef017c3699e86a970b-pi

I have long admired Melissa's work, and am instinctively drawn to her shabby chic projects.  I used my newly purchased half and half dies, and sentiments from Flower Fusion #6, as well as vintage lace, feathers, buttons and a cameo.  I distressed the chipboard tags with white ink and edged with distress ink.  Really fun challenge, I plan on doing some more projects for this one :)

Thanks so much for stopping by...
