Happy Halloween!

I'm not a big Halloween fan, but still, needed to create some Halloween craftiness for my Etsy shop:

 We had a pretty uneventful  week-end, but busy.  I worked on a big Etsy order (which I need to finish tout-suite!)  Griffin & Sammy came over for a late dinner Saturday, which was nice, because we haven't seen much of Sammy since they got married last summer, she's been busy student-teaching, going to school and working, so it was nice to catch up with her!
I also participated in some challenges on the Jenni Bowlin Mercantile website.  This challenge was to mix three different JBS  lines on one project, my take:
This is only like the fourth layout I've done since I closed my scrapbooking store two years ago!!!  I have been perusing blogs and websites to get my creativity flowing again, and I really enjoyed doing some actual layouts....I think I'll keep doing it :)

The Dress.....

So, Ashley and  went wedding dress shopping last week-end.  It was a little discouraging at first, because every single dress she tried on, she'd say, 'I like it, but, I don't love it.'  Just when I was pretty sure she was going to settle for a dress she 'liked' she walked out in this:

Would rather download a pic, but it's not allowing me...anyway,  the shop owner, myself and Ashley all had the same look on our faces when she looked in the mirror...and it said the same thing;  perfect!

And here are few things I've been making lately;
For my etsy shop, I'm kind of obsessed with medallions lately;

I know they're not a 'new' trend, but I love how versatile they are and how easy they are to customize for specific themes/holidays!

The Baby, Trail

Trail's breeder "Owyhee Star' keep a great blog on Weimaraner's, they have a a breeding blog and also a hunting blog, which is what Trail was bred for.  They recently featured Trail on their blog, and he also has his own page...if you scroll to the bottom...

DIY Yule Logs

Yesterday I posted about making herb infused olive oils and vinegars.  They were super easy to make, buy big containers of olive oil (we found the best place for good, inexpensive large containers of olive oil was World market), and gallons of red and white vinegar, fresh herbs, garlic and spices of your choosing.  Collect pretty bottles and clean thoroughly, getting labels off (W-D 40 works as well as goof-off), there are a lot of pretty liquor bottles out there!  Also, save corks from wine bottles.  Use a funnel to put the vinegar or olive oil in bottle (leave room at the top, because the herbs will take up some room), add hers, garlic and the spices, top with cork!  We added handmade tags identifying and stamped the variety of vinegar (Garlic, Tarragon White Wine Vinegar, Garlic, Dill Cider Vinegar, Garlic Rosemary EVOO, etc.), tied to the neck of the bottles with twine and sprig of juniper and or holly, turned out very pretty!

Next we did Yule logs:

 For the yule logs, you need lots of greenery (we used pin, cedar, manzanita, juniper, fir, pinecones, some moss covered branches, and I added a touch of some stickles to some of my leaves :)  Hot glue the the greens, layering as you go, top with pinecones, acorns and tie with a ribbon!  There you have your Yule log to burn on New Year's Day!

Happy crafting!

Pinterest Obsession

OK.....so today was a hospital day for me....meaning I sit in a chair and get an infusion of IVIG (Immune Globulin) for approx. 6 hours......I didn't have time to load up crafty material to work on, so I grabbed Seth's (my youngest son) extra computer and got lost and inspired by pinterest.  I can't quit making boards!  Here are the boards I have started so far..

Welcome to my new blog....still getting the place set up, as you can see...
Just wanted to start a blog showing my paper arts, all things crafty, cooking, gardening, weimaraners, fishing, ok....basically, the things I love, including my family! Still trying to get the slide show working.....I guess it has changed over the last few years....
My newest obsession: http://pinterest.com/suzannebwebb/
It is so fun to be able to make virtual bulletin boards of your favorite things, things to do, things to make, things to looks at, places to go just by plucking them off the internet and 'pinning' them....genius!!

Recently participated in Jenni Bowlin Studio Mercantile challenge:http://jbsmercantileforum.ning.com/forum/topics/pinterest-challenge-from-doris-sander-1 Here's my take:
