Papercrafting On The Road

Hi all, just a little something about our week-end camping.  We went to a Resevoir in the hopes of fishing.  Stan did fish, I was to cold to go out and put my pole up, the winds were horrendous, we even thought we were going to lose the awning on our trailer the first night.

While Stan was braving the elements, I was cozy in the trailer, holed up with my favorite crafting supplies.  I compiled a video and list for those of you who enjoy crafting while on the road.  Here are my must-have items:
*cardstock and patterned paper (it doesn't have to be much, and it can also be just a stash of scraps if
you are working on smaller projects like tags and embellishments)
  *paper trimmer
  *scissors
  *adhesive
  *a small assortment of ribbon
*hole punch (the one thing I forgot this trip)
  *a small comination of stamps
  *acrylic block
*a small sampling of inks (the small 1X1" pads are nice for traveling)
*a folded holder containing 12 small pockets, it's called a 'String Envelope,' but I can't find the
manufacturer on the container, I show it on the video.  This is great for travels, I separated the
pockets by colors, adding various embellishments to each pocket.
*I also add my cuddlebut along with a few dies and embossing folders
I know this sounds like a lot, but all fits nicely into a  'pac accessory carrier' that measures approx
24"x15" X 7" high, which fits under the sofa in the trailer perfectly.  Generally I just gather pieces I have worked on that are on my desk (such as die cuts from my silhoutte that I have yet to use, die cuts from new dies that I have 'tried out,' and the same with stamping images..... I can always make embellishments, tags or cards out of these, especially along with the supplies I have brought.  If I want to work on specific projects, like a  scrapbook layout, it takes a bit more planning, I gather the photos I want to scrap, choose background papers and a handful of patterned papers I am thinking of adding.  With these basics I can at the very least get the background of my page finished.

I hope this is somewhat helpful for all of you that want to travel and still make some time for your papercrafting.  You don't have to take 'the whole store' to get some projects completed!  If you want to see more of the process, please watch my video here:
Thanks so much for stopping by, and i hope you have a fabulous Monday!

  1. I've never scrapped on the road, just at crops/retreats, but it's always handy to have a list so you don't forget anything. Thank you!

  2. How fun that you could craft while travelling! My husband would love to get a fifth wheel trailer and I've always deterred him, but if I could craft in the back.... ;)
